Introduce

The American Camp Counselor Program is a cultural exchange program established by the US State Department. Every year, tens of thousands of eligible applicants from around the world hold J-1 exchange visitor visas to enter the United States as summer camp counselors and receive relevant training. This project aims to help enhance the internationalization level of summer camps in the United States, while also providing opportunities for applicants from around the world to learn about American society and culture, improve their leadership skills and overall qualities.

Camp Counselors must be:
  • Sufficiently proficient in the English language to supervise and interact with American youth;
  • A foreign post-secondary student, youth worker, teacher or individual with specialized skills;
  • At least 18-years-old.
